About the International Riesling Foundation trophies -

During the Sweepstakes round of the 29th Riverside International Wine Competition, the judges all had a chance to look at all nominated Rieslings, and awarded four special trophies for best Rieslings in the event. All four wines came from regions that aren't always recognized for the quality of their Rieslings. Two of the wines came from the Finger Lakes in upstate New York. The dry wine winner came from Cabernet-dominant Napa Valley, and the dessert wine winner was from Tasmania.
